receptor protein tyrosine kinase family (1,2). Tyrosine phosphorylation of HER3/ErbB3 depends on its association with other ErbB tyrosine kinases (3). Phosphorylation sites in the carboxy-terminal tail mediate downstream signaling pathways. HER3/ErbB3 is highly expressed in many cancer cells, and it may work together with other Erb members in tumorigenesis and proliferation (4, 5). Cells were either (A) untreated (B) treated with Neuregulin. Specificity A phospho specific peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Tyrosine 1197 of human HER3/ErbB3 was used as an immunogen. This antibody only detects HER3/ErbB3 phosphorylated at Tyrosine 1197. |
