Background
Fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2) is expressed in many cells and tissue types and has been reported to have a wide range of biological effects, including mitogenesis, cell survival, formation of metastases, remodelling and regeneration of tissues, control of cell proliferation and differentiation, regulation of a variety of genes and regulation of gene expression and rRNA transcription. Fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2) also plays an important role in fertility and early embryo development[1].
