Background
Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) exhibits biological activities through the Met tyrosine kinase receptor. HGF plays a role in the regeneration and protection from injury and pathology in various tissues. Genetic disruption of Met in renal cells demonstrates that the HGF-Met pathway plays a role in the proliferation, morphogenesis, and survival of renal cells[1].
