Background
GRO-α (growth related oncogene-α, CXCL1) is a growth factor as well as a chemoattractant molecule. It is implicated as an oncogenic factor in several tumor types, including prostate and melanoma cancers. GRO-α mediates the proliferation of glia progenitor cells during neural development[1].
